Yes — bananas are safe for Golden Retrievers and most dogs enjoy them. They're a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6, and vitamin C.
Bananas are high in natural sugar, so moderation is key. For a Golden Retriever, a few slices (about a third of a banana) once or twice a week is ideal. Too much can cause weight gain or digestive upset.
Remove the peel before serving — while the peel isn't toxic, it's difficult to digest. You can mash banana into a Kong toy, freeze slices for a summer treat, or simply hand-feed a few pieces.
